Description
Technology that is convenient now can have potentially serious effects on the future. In the case of the fictional Googlezon in the Epic 2015 video, real-time contributions by nonspecialist individuals make traditional news organizations obsolete. Although the historical parts of this video are factual, its view of the future is purely theoretical. How accurate or likely do you think the predictions in this video are? What are some possible effects of emerging technology that the video suggests?
Select an emerging mobile or pervasive technology that has not been addressed in this course. Look for something being developed or recently released but not widely adopted.
Post the following to the discussion board:

In 2008 Googlezon was launched. Google contributes a high-performance search engine while amazon is good at tracking collective recommendations (Robin Sloan, 2014). This technology gains knowledge on each user who uses the internet to market products to each user based on their lifestyle. Gaining information this way caused legal concerns, in 2011 The New York Times sued Googlezon, claiming that their privacy stripping robots violated copyright law.
Googlezon can be helpful for users who dont mind their steps being tracked when they are on the internet. Making a simple google search for a product can bring up useful ads on a user’s phone that can aim the user towards the best product that fits their needs. Furthermore, googlezon software can cause privacy concerns by obtaining consumption habits, interests, demographics, and social networks to shape a user’s product (Robin Sloan, 2014).
Googlezons tracking technology is a significant part of our society. Tracking cookies are used all the time when surfing the internet unless a browser is in incognito mode. Cookies are files that contain data about you and your online browsing activity (US Norton, 2021). Tracking cookies make browsing the internet for previously visited sites and filling out forms easier because previous information is saved that auto-fills blank fields, which is more beneficial than harmful to me.
