There are three criteria for assessment:
- Motivation of selected topic: What exactly is your topic? (An application area? A research direction? A key aspect of professional practice?) Why is it important? (is it important and to whom? Will it shape research or practice in the field? Can it produce novel solutions to important problems? For whom is it important?)
- Depth and breadth of coverage: Are the important aspects of the topic taken up and covered? (including state of the art, current challenges and outlook) Are the key aspects made clear and analysed appropriately, or is the presentation purely descriptive? Are there lessons learnt? Are there suitable references to the literature?
- Quality of presentation: Is the presentation understandable to the class? Is there a logical flow? Are the slides of good quality? (e.g. no spelling mistakes, no wrong/ambiguous statements) Are the presenters able to answer questions?
