Though this assessment holds true to the authors, business organizations continue to face significant challenges in meeting their LTDP needs, especially those organizations whose primary mission is to preserve and provide access to permanent records.

Considering that they will store data for a long time, they must choose a storage medium that can last longer as stipulated by the organization’s retention policies. For example, they can archive data in ZIP formats. Also, the use of the LTO tape-based approach to archive data for the long term.Also, they should consider the accessibility of the storage devices sued for archives. Even though there is no better way to predict if any storage device can stand the test of time, it is important to choose those storage devices that support long-term archival plans
