- Create a terrain for the snowman
- Import an sky image as a background in Perspective> imageplane, create Maya software renderings.
- Rendering for snowman: Maya2020 default to Arnold rendering, which is going to be a problem when you render your snowman. Please follow the image below to change to Maya softwared rendering.
Modeling the Snowman (Part I) – working on the design of your snowman, create the head, arms and hat. Add other accessories such as a scarf or broom if you like. Applied materials with different colors to various part of the snowman. Create a terrain with mountain or vally for the snowman to stand on. Try to group the snowman’s arm or the head so you can create some interesting pose for the snowman. If you need to change pivot for the primitve object, you can press “d” key or “Insert” key to get in to the Pivot point mode.
To assign the snowman with different color, you can try to use Hypershade, we will cover the topic next section (Snowman Part II). With most of the assignment you will need to create render images from your 3D Model, we will use “Maya Software Render”. Maya default to Arnold rendering, which might be a problem when you render your snowman if you don’t have light. To make it easy for you, we will use Maya software for the fist half of the semester. The image below show you how to change to Maya software rendering from Arnold. We will cover the basic Maya rendering on Week 3.
